EDGE of AFRICA offers internship and practical work experience placements for:
- South African Citizens
- Internationals under 26 years (please also refer to our visas section)

Placement Details
You will be placed with EDGE of AFRICA and partnered organisations on hands on projects giving you the experience and direction to better help your career.
Placement Fields:
The WESA program is EDGE of AFRICA's practical work experience wing and is separate to our volunteer projects. WESA currently offers work experience in the following fields:
- Medical and Social Work
- Dentistry
- Teaching
- Travel and Tourism
- Events
- Marketing
- Hotels and Hospitality
Placement Benefits:
EDGE of AFRICA has been operating projects and self run initiatives since 2007 in various fields, however focusing on sustainable development projects.
In addition to particular practical placements, WESA participants will also have the opportunity of being involved in grass root programs and various EDGE of AFRICA volunteer projects working alongside international and local volunteers. This will not only broaden your international awareness but also enhance your appreciation of all local cultures and traditions within South Africa. EDGE of AFRICA has the support of national and international organizations, universities, companies, students and volunteers and therefore your level of exposure and development will be in the form of a large network of industries and professionals.

2 weeks - 3 months

Placement Cost
Placement fees are project dependent however start at a base rate of R1000 (ZAR) for placement initiation and support followed by a weekly rate depending on amenities, catering and accommodation provided.
